What is Instar?
A slow-letter app. You write a letter, pick an insect courier, and it flies the real great-circle route at that insect's real, cited speed. Hours to Singapore, days to Amsterdam, years by dung beetle. The person you wrote to watches it cross a map in any browser and cannot read a word until it lands.
Who makes it?
Instar is built by Beetlix, a one-person studio run by Arif Ariyan, a software engineer. Beetlix makes small, opinionated tools; Instar is the one about waiting.
Why insects?
Because their speeds are real and measured. A dung beetle steers by the Milky Way. A silver ant counts its steps home. A painted lady crosses the Sahara twice. Every courier on the roster comes with the paper its speed came from, and none of them bite.
What does Instar not do?
It does not read your letter: it is encrypted in your browser before it leaves, and the key never reaches the server. It does not need the recipient to install anything. It does not have accounts. It does not put ads on a letter. The full list is on the privacy page.
